Common questions

Quick answers.

How do I connect to the controller?

Switch the KSPARKS unit on, open Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet or laptop and join its network. Then open the controller address shown in the instructions. The connection is direct; mobile data or internet access is not required.

Can I change the ignition timing?

Yes. Supported users can select engine profiles and edit timing maps through the browser interface. Start with the supplied application baseline and do not increase advance or maximum RPM without understanding the engine’s safe limits.

Why should every rider use a unique Wi-Fi name?

At a meeting with several KSPARKS units, a unique name—such as the rider’s name and race number—makes the correct controller easy to identify and prevents riders from joining the wrong network.

Can several devices connect at once?

Multiple devices may view the interface, but only one person should make configuration changes at a time. The ignition timing itself is handled by the controller, independently of a browser screen.

Will it work with my motorcycle?

The complete system is for single-cylinder engines only at present. Compatibility also depends on the engine, crank arrangement, pickup mounting and required timing range. Contact KSPARKS with the exact details before ordering.

What should I do before changing a map?

Confirm the active bike profile, record the current values and check the engine manufacturer’s safe timing and RPM limits. Change only what you understand, then verify the result carefully.
